Calling all adrenaline seekers! The Edmonton International Raceway is home to the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and other seasonal car races. Go for a day at the races at this 1 /4 -mile paved auto racing facility.

Reynolds-Alberta Museum

Located a 4-minute drive from our hotel.

Pay tribute to Alberta’s industrial heritage. View an extensive collection of cars, airplanes, tractors, and other industrial machines in a “highway through time”. Different exhibits show one-of-a-kind cars, a 1928 American Eagle biplane in the Aviation Display Hanger, and a full-scale replica of the Avro Arrow. 

Pigeon Lake

Head out for a day at the lake! Pigeon Lake Provincial Park is a beautiful green space with a lake for boating and swimming, trails for hiking and birdwatching, and recreation areas for golfing, geocaching, and more. Wear comfortable shoes, bring a swimsuit, and prepare for a relaxing day outdoors.

Alberta Central Railway Museum

Step back in time and tour a 1907 Wetakskiwin railway stop! Originally operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway, this museum tells more than the story of a traditional station, but highlights how central the railway was to prarie towns and agriculture in Western Canada!

Big Valley Jamboree

Long weekend in August.

See country singers from all over North America at Big Valley Jamboree, a rocking country music festival held in Camrose, Alberta each summer. There’s something for everyone, from camping to food trucks and major country music names on multiple stages.

Harvest Festival

Hosted at Reynolds-Alberta Museum.

Take a tractor ride, play carnival games, and embark on an open cockpit biplane adventure at the Harvest Festival. One of the more unique things to do in Wetaskiwin, watch farmers take in the harvest and see steam threshing demonstrations.

The Harvest Festival takes place at the start of September when – you guessed it! – the harvest begins. 

History Road

Hosted at Reynolds-Alberta Museum.

The ultimate car show! See classic and vintage automobiles in a “Parade through the Decades” and talk to the owners about the ins and outs of their vehicle. This car show is the perfect add-on to your tour of the main museum and aviation display hanger.
